Christos is a medical doctor from Greece who is currently working as an orthopedic surgery resident at the Department of Pediatric Orthopaedics and Traumatology of the University Children’s Hospital Zurich in Switzerland. He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a focus on healthcare and is involved in research related to orthopedics, public health, and global surgery. In parallel, he actively participates in health bodies and civil society organizations advocating for cancer control, health equity, and promoting a healthy lifestyle for young people in Europe and beyond. Namely, he is a member of the Horizon Europe Cancer Mission Board of the European Commission and a Youth Ambassador of the Association of European Cancer Leagues. Further, he has served as the European Union’s Delegate for Health, Wellbeing, and Sports in the G20 Youth Summit 2023 and as a member of the European Health Parliament 2022. On these grounds, he has received the Diana Award 2023. Christos’s commitment to his vision speaks of his desire to reintroduce the roles of citizen and intellectual into the standard responsibilities of a physician-scientist.
